Your length of time in counseling will vary depending on your personal needs. We offer weekly, bi-weekly, monthly sessions and various flexible, need-based schedules.

Play therapy is a variety of therapy that supports children in expressing their emotions, improving their communication, and solving problems through their natural ability to play. This treatment approach is widely used with children ages 3-12 and allows them to express their feelings and resolve conflicts.

We presently are networked with some insurance panels. For our self-pay option, payment is due at the time of service. Cash, check, or credit card are accepted.

An LMHC, LCSW, and LMFT are licensed professionals who can provide counseling services without supervision. LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, an LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and an LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. These clinicians have a minimum of a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work. They have concluded an internship, passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam, and have conducted at least two years of post-master clinical hours under a board-certified qualified supervisor.

A Registered Mental Health Clinical Intern provides counseling services under the supervision of a board-certified supervisor. Registered interns may hold many years of background in counseling and are simply waiting to satisfy their National Exam or supervision hour requirements. They have a minimum of a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work, have completed their internship requirements, and accumulated many face-to-face clinical hours. They are registered with the Florida state board while achieving their post-master clinical hours under a board-certified qualified supervisor.

Counseling generally concentrates on a specific issue for a limited period. Therapy can be more long-term and focuses on how you see yourself and the world, your beliefs, and your behaviors, as well as the underlying patterns of why you do the things you do.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, effective 1/1/2022, health care providers and facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a health careplan or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage, orally and in writing , upon request or at the time of scheduling sessions, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

"No show" Late Cancellation and Cancellation Policy: ”As indicated in our Practice Policies, cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This policy is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If you are an insurance client, the session will automatically revert to a self-pay session, and Mindful Healing will charge a session fee of $90.00. A credit card is required to be on file in your portal. We utilize a very protected Electronic Medical Record software, ensuring confidentiality and security.

Frequent cancellation/failure to schedule policy: ”As indicated in our "Practice Policy," If you fail to schedule or cancel an appointment for three consecutive weeks unless other arrangements have been made in advance, we must discontinue the professional relationship for legal and ethical reasons.
